I'm a Cougar Folks

That's right.  I knew this would be a fad even before it was a fad.  Go for the younger, hotter, moldable young boy...I always knew I was a trend setter.  And here he is folks, my cub???  What do you call a cougar's man?

Alas, my hotter, smarter, funnier, awesomer, and YOUNGER husband turned 30...last December.  It happened, none the less.  Trevor's not one for birthday's and one of these years I'm going to do something huge, but for his 30th we did what any other annual passholder would do....a kidless trip to Busch Gardens!  We actually had a lot of fun and had been wanting to do it for quite some time...but between pregnancy, nursing, and babysitting, it just hadn't worked out.

We were able to get in and out of the park in less than 2 hours, ride all the rides, get soaked on his favorite river rafting ride and head to a great dinner at Datz.  It was the perfect night...and it wasn't even my birthday!

This meal was crazy.  I can't totally remember it now, but something like fried chicken and chedder waffles with jalepeno maple syrup.  Yuuuuum.

A great snag with the camera phone by the birthday boy himself.

Riding the sky thing at sunset.  Romantic, we know.

 We still got it folks.

Another Smattering

It seems I'm always wishing I had my "good" camera for those moments that only seem to happen when unplanned.  Thus, a lot of the pictures that will actually warm my heart, make me chuckle, or are just highly memorable seem to be captured on our dang phone cameras.  I know they've come a long way, but I want more Apple.  More.  Until then...here's my smattering of photos from the end of last year.  Oh, and just because I'm saucy, I've given each photo a title.

The Unteachable.

Pants on the Ground.

Pretzel Pose.

I Got Hornzz.

The Protector.

Stuck.

 (Groan of Desire).

The Cherub.

Hmmmmmm.

Appears Closer Than She Is.

The Grapefruit.

Cheers.

As we approach this Thanksgiving...

....let's take a moment to remember last Thanksgiving.  It truly deserved/s it.  The Carlile's came to town and when I say they "came to town."  I mean they CAME TO TOWN.  There was some serious partying thanksgiving going on.  Of course, the cousin time was a highlight.  I get the feeling it's fun being a two year old and even more fun to have a cousin that's two also.

We were sure to pay our respects to the beach.

And of course we paid a visit to Mr. DisneyWorld himself.  Oh, and we stayed at some awesome trashy hotel turned hotel/waterpark.  Just a side "bene" of Orlando.

We were so glad to see the lights.  A Winn first.

For some crazy reason we decided to break Riggs of his binky this trip and he was sick.  That sure made for an "unfun" trip for Riggs, but the rest of us sure had a grand time!

Looking for visitors this Thanksgiving....we promise sunshine, beaches, disneyworld, and no rules!

Every Ounce Is Sweetness

Truly.

I went through a major phase when I wanted "sweet" to be one of the words people would use to describe me.  You know those "sweet" people.  We all know them.  We all want to be them.  I eventually gave up on that feat.  It just wasn't in my DNA...

.....FALSE, I tell you.  Every ounce of sweetness I had was put into this little girl.  Because she is PURE SWEETNESS.  At the expense of sounding cheesy....not possible.  This baby girl is so sweet, she makes me cheesy!  It literally feels like my heart melts with each of her smiles.  I can't not stop what I'm doing when she sends one my way.

Meredith, if you ever come back and check out our blog to count how many pictures we took of you vs. Riggs, a) I apologize, it really is true....it's so much tougher with the second and b) I know we maybe didn't throw you a big, fancy party for your first birthday or hold much of an event of any kind, but me, your dad, and your brother were (and I'm sure still will be) totally whooped for you and would have thrown you any party you wanted had you just been able to talk:)  The funny thing is, you're just so sweet I get the feeling you are going to be totally happy with the turkey burgers (I know, we didn't even do beef!) and raspberry bread pudding.  Because you just came that way.  Sweet.

We love you Sis!
