Meet Tresley

Have you ever seen "If They Mated" on Conan O'Brien? Apparently this is what will be arriving in August 2009 from Lesley and I. We like to call it "Baby Tresley." Not only is he/she black, but also approximately 13 years old.

In case you hadn't figured it out yet, Lesley's eggo is preggo.

On a serious note, we're very excited and eagerly anticipating the arrival of the real Baby Tresley (hopefully not looking like this) in early August. Lesley is now 12 weeks along and we have heard the heartbeat and seen the baby on ultrasound so we know there's really something in there and that there is only one of them. The baby was bending and moving constantly while we watched on ultrasound. To me, it looked like there were squats being done. We may have a powerlifter on our hands.
.
We are very excited to see what this next stage of life brings us and happy to be blessed with this gift from Heavenly Father.

Nants ingonyama bagithi Baba [Here comes a lion, Father]
Sithi uhm ingonyama [Oh yes, it's a lion]

Nants ingonyama bagithi baba
Sithi uhhmm ingonyama
Ingonyama

Siyo Nqoba [We're going to conquer]
Ingonyama
Ingonyama nengw' enamabala [A lion and a leopard come to this open place]

[Chant repeats]

From the day we arrive on the planet
And blinking, step into the sun
There's more to see than can ever be seen
More to do than can ever be done
There's far too much to take in here
More to find than can ever be found
But the sun rolling high
Through the sapphire sky
Keeps great and small on the endless round

It's the Circle of Life
And it moves us all
Through despair and hope
Through faith and love
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the Circle
The Circle of Life

It's the Circle of Life
And it moves us all
Through despair and hope
Through faith and love
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the Circle
The Circle of Life

I would not be surprised if the baby has some color in it. Those things have a track record of being right on, you should see the one Whit and I did.

My favorite part was the fact that Tresley looked 13.

Congrats.

This will definitely be the scuttlebut for the year 2009! We are so excited. And the beauty of "Tresley" is that I don't think it's too gender-specific, so you could use it for either a boy or a girl.

With the news of a grandbaby coming "Maga" is anxious to get working on some sewing projects! The desire to go fabric shopping at Joanne's has been overwhelming, however, I don't know what colors you like for l'enfant! Got any suggestions?

Congratulations you guys! That is seriously some exciting news. Babies are pretty cool. Tresley is the perfect name either way. By the way, I did one of those what will your baby look like things with a guy friend (who is also white) back in high school and we ended up with an 11 year old Mexican boy growing a moustache. And I'm pretty sure the moustache came from me. :(
