A Couple of Big, Fat, Reasons We Haven't Been Up to Much...

No Words necessary.
Creases when standing at 90 degrees.
A daily activity of Trevor's...
....a staying power of a sold 5 - 10 minutes.

It was very difficult for me to post those pics because they make me cringe! It's just so unbelievable though, so I couldn't pass up documenting this strange thing that's happening to my body. Everyone keeps asking if I have other signs of preeclampsia, but apparently my blood pressure is totally fine and there's no protein in my urine. The doc think I'm just dealing with sever pressure on the ol' vena cava, thus not allowing much circulation. The fact that I have no feeling in about 4 of my fingers on both hands would also suggest my circulation is suffering. I can NOT wait to have the tingling gone!!!!!!

This is the other reason we have been quite limited in our activities. Just look at him - that's what he looked like for a solid 4 days, just like he was on death's bed. I couldn't get him out of the gown for 72 hours at least. He just laid there, half comatose. Luckily, I can now say, he's recovering very well and we're hoping he won't have to deal with anymore dislocated shoulders for quite some time. The surgery took about 2 hours longer than expected because of the "mess" in his shoulder, but we both like the doc and are hopeful....for now.
Here is the nerve block they had pumping into his neck for the first 72 hours. He really wanted a picture of the wire coming out of his neck...that will be my back soon.

You'll also notice some splotches on his face - this was from his reaction to the pain meds. About 48 hours after surgery he started itching all over, uncontrollably, like a drug addict or little puppy dog. Needless to say he had to go off those drugs pretty quick which seemed to make things more bearable.

Lastly, the one thing we have done of late....that we actually have pictures for....is a version of a camping trip. We basically went up American Fork canyon, started a fire with wet wood, and then left when we were done eating....Two pregnant people were on board, what do you expect you know? We went with good intentions...and a tent. Neither were used.

Wow Les you have really done it this time. I am glad I finally pressured you into posting these. I was sad not to see any pic's of the tiger claws though. Maybe a little photo slide show on your side bar? You two are warriors. Just don't choke like Roddick when your due date comes.

I will never complain about my occasional "swollen" toes again. I'm glad you don't have pre-e! Your baby is almost finished cooking...woo hoo!! Don't forget about us folks in Texas...we expect to see some pictures when that baby boy comes. :)

Oh Les, Oh Les, Oh Les. I would lend you my feet for a couple of minutes if I could. Let's try to get one more bonfire in before he comes. And by one more, I mean the first, but let's just do it!

You are already making some of the sacrifices a Mom makes for her children: swollen feet, pain, lack of sleep, unable to sit or stand for long, etc. Soon I'll be down there to help you (and our new grandchild)! Hang on a little longer! XOXOXO

Love your blog! When I was pregnant with both my babies... like many I dealt with swelling. My body at one time tried to become pre eclampsic. My mother in law suggested grapefruit juice to help with the swelling and it did wonders for me... don't know if it will work... won't solve all of your problems but it might help.
